As a **Instrument Technician** for our **CP Chem Project in Orange, Texas** , you will contribute to our team by: ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES The roles and responsibilities of an Instrument Technician may include but are not limited to the following items: • Effective use of verbal and written communication – good interpersonal skills. • Work safely at all times and promote safety to others around you. • Assist Foremen in maintaining a safe workplace. • Possesses a strong working knowledge of and experience working with industrial instrumentation systems in an industrial construction setting. • Tests accuracy of flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, radiation counters or detectors, and other recording, indicating or controlling instruments to locate defective components in system, using test equipment, such as pressure gauges, mercury manometers, potentiometers, pulse and signal generators, oscilloscopes, transistor curve tracers, and ammeters, voltmeters, and watt-meters. + Perform quality work as determined by the project specifications. • Calibrates readings on instruments according to standards and adjusts phasing and aligns stages to ensure accuracy of recording and indicating function. • Examine drawings and specifications for various work tasks and ensures current information is passed to other members of the crew. • Records calibrations made, parts and components used, and inventory of parts on hand. • Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered. Take corrective actions as needed such as remove defective instruments from system. Decontaminate, disassemble, and clean instruments, plus replace defective parts using hand tools. • Traces out and tests electronic solid state and vacuum tube circuitry and components to locate defective parts in analog and digital, protection, or radiation monitoring systems, using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals. • Assist Foreman in scheduling crews according to available work packages for the project. Provide written lists to the Foreman of all required equipment and materials necessary to complete the assigned task. • Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers. • A thorough knowledge of and proper use and installation of standard wire, cable, conduit, fittings, cable trays, and hardware commonly found in industrial plants • Coordinates work activities and installations with the craft Foreman to assure productivity and to eliminate conflicts in the field. • Prepares schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systems. • Receives and follows the instructions of the Instrument Technician Foreman. • Participate fully in health, safety, quality, and environmental processes. **Must pass DISA background, Follicle and UA requirements** **Safety Essentials** PCL is an innovative, safety-oriented company comprised of people who find passion in their profession and take pride in doing great work everyday.
