Instrument Technician
Job Title: Instrument TechnicianJob Description

As an Instrument Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the maintenance and repair of equipment, particularly focusing on air quality monitoring stations (AQMS) and continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS). Your expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, maintenance, and troubleshooting will be essential in delivering exceptional service solutions. The role requires independent work on moderately complex assignments, where your experience and knowledge will be crucial for calibrating instruments and resolving issues. This position involves traveling out of town 25% of the time.

ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on extractive, dilution extractive, and in-situ air monitoring equipment and systems.Troubleshoot analysis instrumentation, support equipment, control, and metering issues, taking appropriate actions to rectify deficiencies.Improve the operation of monitoring systems, instruments, controls, and metering and electrical equipment at customer facilities.Maintain accurate records of readings and test results for all assigned equipment.Keep detailed records and files of data collected during preventive maintenance.Perform tasks in accordance with logic diagrams, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, and written instructions.

Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of two years of maintenance experience, preferably with CEM systems.Familiarity with various test equipment such as multi-meters, pitot tube/manometer, and electronic test equipment.Experience reading electrical prints and operating manuals.Proficiency in using computers, specifically MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with subordinates, peers, managers, customers, and vendors.Ability to travel and stay out of town overnight for scheduled and unscheduled trips.Capability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, and endure outdoor elements.Willingness to take rotating on-call duties on nights, weekends, and holidays, up to one week per month.Valid driver's license insurable by the company's vehicle insurance carrier.Compliance with DISA random drug and alcohol sampling program.
Work Environment

The role involves working with various technologies and equipment, often requiring travel and work at client sites. The position demands physical endurance, as technicians may need to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in different environmental conditions. The work schedule includes rotating on-call duties, which may occur on nights, weekends, and holidays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Angier, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
