Instrument Engineer – Analyzer – Barcelona, Spain
Key responsibilities and main tasks:
• Responsible for the design, selection, and implementation of process analytical instrumentation, including complex analytical instrumentation for various measurement technologies. Also responsible for sample conditioning equipment and systems.
* Integration of analytical instrumentation systems into existing or new control systems to ensure optimal performance of industrial processes.
* Produces deliverables for the I&C discipline: Listings, Specifications, and Data Sheets for complex instrumentation: analyzers, conditioning systems, and sampling. Selection of sensors, analyzers, and installation and conditioning materials.
May also be responsible for regulating valves, safety valves, and so on.
• Purchase requisitions, monitoring, and validation of documentation and installation of subcontractors or suppliers of instruments and analyzers, assistance with FAT testing of equipment and systems.
• Preparation of preparatory documentation, pricing, and definition of the scope of work for supply subcontracts and installation of analyzer shelters in accordance with regulations.
• Responsible for the quality, planning, contractual requirements, and execution plan of the I&C team on the project.
• Responsible for labor planning and work distribution within the group on a regular basis. Manages and controls man-hours.
• Verifies or approves technical recommendations and is responsible for proposing cost-effective solutions.
• Coordinates with lead engineers from other departments and project support functions, such as procurement and planning.
• Ensures that discipline engineering deliverables comply with the project's QHSE plan and the processes and standards of The Client and discipline engineering.
• Works to develop and train subordinates.
• Assists the Head of the I&C Discipline Department in various departmental activities.
• Manages and controls material quantities. Verifies and enforces procedures, standards, and regulations.
• Highly Valued: Leadership skills, communication skills, ability to work in a team, able to accept limitations of dedication and budget depending on the project.
The experience shall include:
> 5 years of experience preparing I&C engineering documentation in a technical office
> 3 years of experience in gas and liquid process analyzers, including in-line analyzers, sampling systems, gas chromatographs, mass spectrometers, infrared and ultraviolet analyzers, pH measurement, gas detectors, gasoline or diesel fuel parameter analyzers, etc.
> Experience in international projects; complex analyzer systems (e.g., chromatographs) and various measurement technologies.
MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, etc.);
Adobe Acrobat;
Knowledge of AutoCAD or µStation;
Knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI / Intools) or AVEVA Engineering
MS Project is also a plus.
English B1 level
Spoken and written French is advantageous
