Job SummaryThe role of the Instrument/Electrical Planner is to improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of manpower, parts, material, and equipment access for all instrumentation and electrical maintenance work. The Planner acts as a liaison between Production and Maintenance Departments. The Planner must know the job well enough that they can describe what is to be accomplished and can estimate how many man-hours will be required.
Essential Job FunctionsActively participates and supports safety programsInitially screen job requests for completeness, accuracy, and necessity. Perform regular analysis of backlog work relative to available resources.Develop detailed job plans identifying safety and environmental issues, labor hours, crafts skills, crew size, operations, task sequence, materials, special tools, and equipment access requirements. Determines required skill sets for each task (craft and skill level). Determines the best method for job performance (the best way to do it)Complete analysis of job requirements to determine the best way to accomplish the work. Analysis can include conferring with requestors, clarifying requests and refining descriptions, visualizing job execution and outlining requirements.Coordinate job scheduling and coordination with Production through structured meetings designed to reach accord regarding most important jobs to be scheduled during the approaching schedule week.Responsible for maintaining accurate records of electrical maintenance within MaximoCommunicates daily with the leads, supervisors, and department mgt. on status of electrical maintenance workAudits daily planned maintenance performed by all maintenance employees to ensure the work performed meets standards of quality and quantityWill comply with all plant food and feed safety/quality requirementsOther duties as assignedJob RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent is requiredAssociates Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Process related fields preferredMinimum experience of 5 years in a Manufacturing environment1-3 years of prior planning and scheduling experience is preferredExtensive experience in electrical repairs. Experience would include troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems, centrifugal pumps, power transmission equipment, motor, etc.Predictive, Preventive, and Reliability Centered Maintenance knowledgeKnowledge of or training in OSHA standards is helpful Good communication, writing, and speaking skills for coordination, training, reporting, and analysisMust have experience with work management including job planning, preparation, and schedulingProficient in the use of Computer software tools including but not limited to Microsoft Office and MaximoMust have detailed understanding of Food Manufacturing Plant Operation and MaintenanceAble to understand and comply with plant GMP and personnel practice requirementsWorking ConditionsDustChemicals / IrritantsThe scope of the position may have exposure to and use of chemicals, solvents, and cleaners that may be hazardous and/or cause injury if specific instructions regarding their mixture, use, and disposal/storage are not properly followed.Inside areas:Spring / Summer: Temperatures in some areas of the facility will be up to or exceed 100 degreesFall / Winter: Temperatures in the facility may be at or below freezing.Outside areas:Spring / Summer: Outside temperature may be up to or exceed 100 degrees with potential for high humidity. May be exposed to inclement weather conditions including, but not limited to, rain and wind.Fall / Winter: Outside temperatures may reach freezing or below.
