Instrument Coordinator

**Job Description**
Saint Luke's Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an Instrument Coordinator. This position reports to Sterile Processing department leadership, the Instrument Coordinator collaborates with OR leaders and SPD staff to maintain electronic database of tray information and arrange appropriate upgrades. Upgrades may include creating new trays, increasing or decreasing par levels of current trays, and any necessary changes to the tray listings. This position will be responsible for ordering all instrumentation for the department, and managing loaner equipment/trays while items are out for repair. This position serves as a liaison between Surgical Services and the Sterile Processing Department. Superior communication and computer skills are required, as is extensive knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile processing standards of practice

Coordinates repairs (On site & Off Site) this includes sending instruments to our vendors repair facility.
Orders inventory for commonly used instruments using the materials management software system.
Maintains the instrument inventory and set listing in SPM. Keeping it up to date. Assures that bar code labels are assigned to new instruments and sets.
Maintains basic instrument inventory. Organizes instruments in proper location for ease of identification and reordering.
Assists Surgical Team Leaders with maintaining and ordering specialized surgical instrumentation for their service line.
Helps maintain and monitors department par levels established by department guidelines. Works with manager and coordinators to assure adequate instruments are available for daily departmental activities.
Receives shipments from storeroom and assures items are properly secured in the assigned locations.
Tracks and finds missing instrumentation. If unable to locate, reorders replacements.
Assists Sterile Processing staff in locating and replacing missing surgical instrumentation so that sets are complete at all times.
CRCST certification required within first year.
To be successful in this position, you will need to have confidence in your abilities and strong communication skills.
