Instrument/Controls Work Preparation Coordinator

Position Title: Instrument & Controls (I&C) Work Preparation Coordinator
Location: Shell House (Office-based, no site requirement)
Project: Shell PMCT (Prelude Modifications Crux Tie-in)
Contract Duration: 4 – 6 months (Potential for extension)
Start Date: ASAP (Immediate availability preferred)

About the Project:

The role supports the Prelude Modifications Crux Tie-in (PMCT) project, a multi-phase offshore scope scheduled for completion in the second half of 2027. Major work packages involve installation and cold commissioning of export pipelines, flexible risers, substructures, topsides, and facility modifications. Cold commissioning and preservation are key to maintaining infrastructure integrity prior to hydrocarbon production.

Role Purpose:

The I&C Work Preparation Coordinator will be responsible for collating and preparing all necessary deliverables to support offshore execution related to instrumentation and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate all offshore execution deliverables for I&C scopes.

Develop and manage job card registers; ensure job cards are complete and accurate in EasyPlant.

Assess material requirements and prepare purchase requisitions.

Liaise with offshore execution teams and coordinate scope readiness.

Verify relevant documentation and quality records (e.g., Mechanical Completion, Pre-Commissioning).

Create Permits to Work including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Personal Isolation Sheets (PI), and ICC documentation.

Estimate manhours for activities and inspection test records (ITRs), considering work complexity.

Evaluate insulation removal needs and define temporary power requirements.

Provide progress updates on job card preparation and support urgent offshore work requests.

Conduct instrument readiness reviews.

Requirements:

Minimum 10 years’ experience with an Instrumentation trade background.

Prior experience in brownfield construction, maintenance, and commissioning within the oil & gas sector.

Strong working knowledge of job carding systems and construction processes.

Proven experience preparing work packages in an operational offshore environment.

Excellent communication and coordination skills.
