We are looking for an Instrument & Controls (I&C) Lead for an upcoming project. This role will work with our team of engineers to identify and define solutions that reduce risk and grow installed production capacity. This role will provide Instrument and Controls support for site operations while ensuring safe and effective operations through managing risk, addressing questions, and minor modification activities. The Instrument & Controls Lead Engineer will be responsible for providing immediate front-line support for Operations and Maintenance teams to resolve minor issues and escalate more significant issues to the Central Engineering Team. This role will report to the Area Engineering Support Team Lead and will have I&C Engineers as direct reports.
Responsibilities:
Advocate a culture of open safety reporting and continuous improvementEnsure asset I&C Engineering risks are understood, controlled, managed and reduced including Instrumented Control Safety Systems, HMI, System Security, Package Interfaces, Fire and Gas and Safety SystemsPerform calculations required to properly evaluate design changes, provides engineering reports for the engineering department to assist in design change preparationContribute to a variety of asset and project risk assessmentsWhere required manage overrides and drive systematic closure and resolutionMonitor thehealth of I&C equipmentassociated operating envelopesrecording and investigating all Safe Operating Limit excursionsI&C KPI’s (safety overrides, alarm metrics, control loop performance) and initiate corrective actionsSupport:Safe delivery of controller tuning activitiesDelivery of Production Efficiency ImprovementDefect Elimination processes for ICSS and automation systems (including simple investigations for deferrals and vulnerabilities)Identify production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support production forecast and grow production capacityI&C support to technical MoCs and Engineering QueriesCollaborate with Central Maintenance team on spares management, equipment health and obsolescence managementActs as technicalinterface with Projects and Modifications organisation, including development of Statements of Requirements (SORs) and Project Initiation Requests (PIRs) and Decision Support Packages (DSPs)custodian of critical site drawings and registers (C&Es, Loop Drawings, System Architecture Drawings, Tuning Parameter Register)Perform follow-up actions and observations from self-verification checks that are related to I&C Engineering e.g. OverridesParticipate in Start Up Readiness and Assurance ReviewsCoach junior engineersQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field10 + years of relevant field experience with an average of 15 years with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industryProven ability in asset engineering or operation engineering roleWorking production facilities experienceMust be proficient with Office Suite, document management and CMMS & Change Management softwareEstablished competence in behavior change managementPreferred Qualifications:
