We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source an Instrument & Controls Lead. This is a long-term contract role. Please see details below.
Title: Instrument & Controls Lead
Start Date: ASAP (typically within 1 month notice)
Location: Qatar Onshore
Working Schedule: 5 days per week / 10 hours per day
--Experience Required—
Key Job Accountabilities
• Demonstrate personal SHES leadership and excellent SHES behaviors at all times and actively participate in Toolbox Talks, Task Instructions and site safety walkthroughs during construction phase.
• Ensure that Contractors/Subcontractors are conducting engineering design in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and safe practices.
• Resolve I&C discipline issues timely to ensure engineering designs meet Major Project’s expectations and objectives.
• Ensure approved design recommendations and programs are utilized by the Project to improve design integrity, reduce inefficiencies, and maintain high safety and risks standards.
• Verify for both FEED and execution activities adequacy of Contractor resources and personnel competency for the tasks, employment of appropriate tools including use of approved technical software.
• Provide I&C Engineering input to other engineering disciplines and support commissioning and system completing activities and make appropriate recommendations to management on I&C discipline matters.
• Identify, track, and implement all improvements derived from lessons learned, particularly those related to existing plant sections as provided by the operation department.
• Monitor and ensure timely issuance of documents listed in the Master Document Register for all documents and deliverables produced by both the FEE D and EPC Contractors.
--Minimum Requirements--
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Instrument, Automation or Electronic Engineering.
Knowledge and Key Skills
• 8 years experience in Engineering roles, including 4 years in the Oil & Gas Industry, and including 1 year experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractor/subcontractors/service/vendor personnel.
• Strong knowledge and application of international engineering standards, specifications and design.
• Experience managing Control System contractors and third-party vendors, in several phased of the projects, preferably done a complete project from FEED to Start-up.
• Broad I&C equipment and controls systems experience and familiarity with relevant manufacturing processes.
• Brownfield engineering and execution knowledge
• Berth control system for LNG and HC liquid product loading/Unloading.
