Job Summary
The College of Business invites applications for fixed-term, non-tenure track, full/part-time Instructors to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2025-2026 academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Dean.

The position reports directly to the Executive Director for Student Success in the College of Business. The purpose of this position is to provide instruction within the College’s first year BA160 series, BA101, Professional Development and Blueprint Courses.
This position is responsible for the instruction, curriculum development, classroom management, and overseeing academic projects as part of the Student Engagement curriculum.
This position will participate in strategic planning efforts that support the mission, vision, and goals for the College of Business as it pertains to the Student Engagement program.

Key Responsibilities
90% – Classroom Management & Programming:
+ Supports and teaches courses under the Student Engagement team (small lecture courses, and large lecture recitation courses).
+ Trains, supervises/mentors, and evaluates student teaching assistants.
+ Works with Student Engagement’s staff, student workers and faculty to identify and implement enhanced events tied to Student Engagement to promote the success of students in collaboration with faculty, alumni and industry representatives.
+ Provides support for Student Engagement teaching team, including but not limited to: creating course content and curriculum, designing student and team assignments and exams, grading, and facilitating classroom functions, etc.
+ Supports the onboarding of first year and transfer students through orientation and welcome week programming.
+ Manages Innovation Nation’s student-run microbusiness projects.
+ Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Student Engagement in planning programs that contribute to the program’s mission.
+ Meets 1:1 with students to provide holistic support.
+ Interacts with a variety of internal and external customers (e.g., staff, student assistants, business owners, students and their families, companies, outside speakers, faculty, classified and administrative personnel in the college and throughout the university, vendors, and program sponsors) by phone, in person, electronically (website/email), etc.
+ Contribute to social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts; provide mentoring and opportunities for students from underrepresented groups; enable the advancement of diverse perspectives; and promote equitable outcomes among learners of diverse and underrepresented identity groups.
10% Service:
Service to College, University, and profession. Engage in activities within the University and the profession, including contributing to College and University strategic initiatives that support DEI efforts and foster a more inclusive academic community. Serve on college and/or University committees, attend professional conferences or other trainings, and participate in college/University events as required.
What You Will Need
+ Master’s degree in Business, Education, College Student Services and Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
+ Experience with supporting students in their personal, professional and academic pursuits in a higher education setting.
+ Demonstrated commitment to educational equity and a commitment to advancing the participation of diverse groups and supporting diverse perspectives.
+ Demonstrated record of effective teaching at a high school level or accredited university.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, utilizing inclusive language and the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy across diverse cultural boundaries
+ Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
+ High computer proficiency; required qualifications include: strong MS office experience with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and working knowledge of Outlook and Windows/Mac.
+ Ability to maintain professional decorum, as well as know or can demonstrate ability to learn and work within OSU system.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule
The incumbent is responsible for maintaining a flexible work schedule. Some evenings and weekend work is required.
Teaching assignments may include course delivery in any format – site-based in-person, asynchronous online, or hybrid combinations of online, site-based in-person, and/or remote instruction.
