Minimum Qualifications A Master of Science in Nursing degree is required; however, a Doctorate is preferred; Eligible for membership on undergraduate faculty. Unencumbered licensure status as an RN in the state of Louisiana; or eligible for Louisiana licensure. At least three (3) years of clinical nursing experience. At least three (3) years of nurse educator experience; three (3) or more preferred. Must be able to pass a background check and shall meet the required standards defined by the University. Job Specification The Instructor/Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing is a faculty position within the College of Nursing and School of Allied Health. The faculty member will support undergraduate nursing education through teaching, advising, service, scholarship, and professional development. The role requires compliance with university, state, and accrediting body standards. •Perform faculty responsibilities within a large nursing education department at Northwestern State University. •Support program expansion efforts in Shreveport and surrounding areas. •Teach assigned courses in a manner that promotes academic excellence and student engagement. •Provide instruction in areas of professional and clinical expertise. •Evaluate student learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback. •Serve as a professional role model to students and peers. •Represent the university in a positive and professional manner. •Assist in maintaining records and documentation pertinent to the College of Nursing. •Uphold confidentiality regarding faculty, staff, and students in compliance with federal laws and university policies. •Participate in the development, evaluation, and revision of policies and procedures within the College of Nursing. •Attend College of Nursing and university functions, meetings, and assigned committee activities. •Maintain regular office hours and demonstrate reliable attendance. •Advise and mentor students during office hours and as needed. •Engage in activities that promote the College of Nursing, which may occur during evenings, weekends, or off-site. •Exhibit flexibility, collaboration, and a supportive attitude in all college and university-related activities. •Actively recruit students to programs within the College of Nursing and School of Allied Health. •Serve as a liaison between the College and other university departments, as well as local, state, and national agencies and organizations.
