Job Title Instructional Veterinary Nurse I Agency Texas A&M University - Kingsville Department Department of Veterinary Technology Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location Kingsville, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description The Instructional Veterinary Nurse I, under direct supervision, participates in the instruction of undergraduate-level courses to meet the needs of the Veterinary Technology Program. This includes hands-on laboratory responsibilities and may include classroom-lecture instruction. Assists veterinary staff with medical management of program animals and medical cases including daily husbandry, supportive care and medical treatments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Effectively instruct students in all content included in assigned VETT courses + Maintain classroom and laboratory spaces and assist with quality control on equipment and facility cleanliness/maintenance  + Support student success through ready availability, mentoring and advising + Ensure accurate entry and completion of medical records + Assist in the management of medical cases + Support other instructors in class/laboratory settings, as needed + Maintain professional licensure and stay current on veterinary medicine affairs + Participate in the academic affairs of the department, college, and university. + Provide veterinary assistance for research projects + Participate in recruitment of students and educate of others through facility tours, public speaking engagements, and career fairs Minimum Requirements Education - Graduation from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program with an associate’s degree in veterinary technology or related field Experience- Three years of related experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of – Common veterinary practices and procedures in a working veterinary practice setting, laboratory and didactic teaching methods  Ability to – Multitask, communicate and cooperate well with others.
