Job Description:

As a Curriculum Designer for our Group Disability organization:

You have a passionate for learning and development. You apply adult learning principles to create effective learning experiences that help others gain new skills. You assess learning styles, set clear objectives, develop training materials for both in-person and online settings, and evaluate curriculum effectiveness. You excel in fast-paced environments, are tech-savvy, and enjoy collaborating with others. Our learning team is dedicated to providing high-quality, consistent training globally, working closely with the director and managers of Learning & Development along side our business operations partners to support training initiatives.

What will you do:

Design engaging, interactive learning experiences using various formats (web-based, self-paced, virtual, in-person) aligned with organizational objectives

Engage with clients, Subject Matter Experts, and other stakeholders to determine appropriate learning solutions

Develop detailed design documents, storyboards, and effective knowledge assessments

Create and implement curriculum using instructional design principles and modern e-learning tools

Ensure efficacy, consistency, flexibility, and sustainability of learning materials

Develop and maintain training-related forms, job aids, and materials

Configure courses in LMS, including setting up enrollments, question banks, and HTML enhancements

Evaluate and improve program effectiveness

Manage course development projects, meeting timelines and utilizing resources effectively


What do you need to succeed:

Degree/Diploma/Certification in Adult Education or Instructional Design (asset)

3-5+ years of instructional design experience

Proficiency in e-learning tools (Articulate 360-Storyline and Rise, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office suite, Snagit, HTML 5, GenAI)

Experience with SharePoint for content management and collaboration

Strong instructional design knowledge and ability to work with Subject Matter Experts

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and writing skills

Project management and prioritization skills

Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Experience in evaluating and improving learning programs

Proven ability in writing concise, creative, and effective learning communications, objectives and strategies

High degree of initiative, self-organization, and self-management skills

Adaptable and resilient, able to manage complexity and work in ambiguous situations

As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only as the incumbent will be responsible for creating and delivering training to employees and/or English and French-speaking clients across Canada or worldwide.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
