**Job Description**
Ensure the contractor’s compliance with landscape-related specifications, standards, approved drawings, and contract documents.
* Supervise and inspect all landscape works, including softscape, hardscape, irrigation systems, and associated infrastructure elements, as directed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
* Monitor daily site activities related to planting, soil preparation, grading, irrigation installation, hardscape works, and landscape furniture.
* Maintain accurate records of contractor manpower, equipment, materials delivered, and daily progress for all landscape works.
* Review and verify materials and plant species delivered to site, ensuring compliance with approved submittals and project specifications.
* Liaise and coordinate daily with the contractor to ensure adequate resource allocation, proper implementation of health and safety measures, and adherence to the planned schedule.
* Ensure all landscape works are executed in accordance with approved shop drawings, method statements, and quality control procedures.
* Prepare and submit daily progress reports to the RE/ARE, including inspections carried out, materials used, site observations, and any non-compliance issues.
* Carry out inspections and verification of irrigation networks, including pipe routing, pressure tests, valve chambers, controllers, and connections to the main water supply.
* Conduct softscape inspections including planting pits, soil mixes, fertilizers, root barriers, planting methodologies, and post-planting maintenance requirements.
* Monitor the contractor’s QA/QC activities specific to landscape works and maintain relevant records, test results, and compliance documentation.
* Coordinate with the client’s representatives and project management team during site inspections and provide technical support in the presence of the RE/ARE.
* Follow up and implement all site instructions issued by the RE/ARE related to landscape works.
* Assist the RE/ARE in preparing technical correspondence, inspection requests, and documentation required for landscape-related issues.
* Identify site problems or deviations in landscape works and work closely with the RE/ARE to resolve them promptly.
* Verify landscape-related measurements, levels, and alignments including grading, walkways, planters, and irrigation alignments.
* Monitor the commissioning of irrigation systems, landscape lighting (if applicable), and the establishment period of planted areas.
* Ensure proper documentation for handover including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, plant establishment reports, and final inspection checklists.
