**Job Description** How does it feel to work on a team driven to make a big impact? Empowering. BAE Systems is seeking a Production Quality Inspector to support at its Elgin, Oklahoma site. In this role as a Production Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that manufactured products meet established quality standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements. You will perform frequent inspections through in-process assembly, test, paint and final product release. As an Inspector, you will be responsible for performing process inspections to identify, document, and isolate non-conforming materials to prevent defective products from reaching the customer. Included duties: + In-Process Inspection: Conduct regular inspection and checks at various stages of production (e.g., assembly, test, paint) using specified sampling plans or 100% inspection where required. + Final Inspection: Perform comprehensive checks on finished goods prior to submission to DCMA customer inspection. Help to develop and evolve inspection documentation and methods. + Process Auditing: Execute prescribed audits of production processes to support proactive identification of issues and improvement opportunities. + Tool Usage: Occasional set up and use of a variety of standard measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and functional gauges (e.g., go/no-go, pull-force gages). + Drawing Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret Process Work Instructions (PWI), technical drawings, and specifications. + Non-Conformance Management: Initiate and complete detailed Non-Conformance Records (NCRs) for identified defects, scrap, or deviations from standards. + Data Recording: Maintain accurate, organized, and timely inspection records, test results, and quality logs in spreadsheets, HighQA, Oracle, TipQA, and other internal database systems. + First Article Inspection (FAI): Occasionally document First Article Inspection reports for new scope or modified tooling/processes. Completion of Certificate of Conformance (CoC) after inspection of product is at times required. + Process Monitoring: Assist in collecting data for quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, yield) and reporting trends to the Quality and Production teams. + Standard Compliance: Ensure all inspection activities and documentation adhere strictly to the company s Quality Management System (e.g., ISO 9001:2015 and Business Management System procedures). + Calibration: Verify that all measuring and test equipment (M&TE) used is within the current calibration cycle and properly handled. + Containment: Document, tag, segregate, and secure non-conforming or suspicious materials immediately to prevent inadvertent use. + Communication: Clearly and professionally communicate quality issues, inspection results, and potential problems to Production Supervisors, Engineers, and peers. + Teamwork: Collaborate with production personnel on the manufacturing floor to clarify specifications and address defects at the source, supporting root cause analysis. + Safety: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and clean work environment. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Typically requires a High School diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience (i.e. in a manufacturing or quality inspection role), ideally within the automotive or a related industry, or the overall equivalent. + Technical Acumen: Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and apply complex technical documentation (e.g., drawings, inspection procedures, specifications). + Inspection Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in using standard measuring tools (e.g. scale, calipers, micrometers, and various other gages as required). + Software Skills: Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite, data entry into QMS/ERP systems). + Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 35 lbs., safety climb on the exterior of military vehicles, stand for extended periods and perform visual inspections with precision. + Quality System Knowledge: Familiarity with the principles and documentation requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System is beneficial. + Able to perform tasks with great attention to detail. + Highly effective organizational skills. + Ability to work and clearly communicate via written and verbal methods independently in a LEAN manufacturing environment. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** Previous experience with military vehicle systems is beneficial. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $45978 - $73564 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
