CEI SENIOR ROADWAY / BRIDGE INSPECTOR – Jacksonville Florida
Seeking a Senior Roadway / Bridge Inspector for Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) work in the Jacksonville, Florida area.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Candidate should be a high school graduate or equivalent plus eight (8) years of experience in construction inspection, four (4) years of which shall have been in roadway or bridge construction inspection. Candidates with Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Construction Management degrees, only one (1) year of experience in roadway or bridge construction inspection is required.
Prior FDOT experience required, District 2 experience preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive general supervision from the Project Administrator.Coordinate and manage the lower-level inspectors and verification testing technicians.Read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings.Perform field inspection of contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract documents.Perform material sampling and testing.Prepare daily reports to document contractor work operations.Field measure installed quantities and perform supporting standard mathematical calculations.Enter daily reports and material sampling and testing results in web-based databases (PrC and Material Acceptance and Certification [MAC] database).QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidate should possess current FDOT CTQP certifications and FDOT Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control (MOT) certification as well as possess working knowledge of FDOT specifications.
This position may require frequent and recurring construction inspections, which includes walking, climbing, stooping and bending at various elevations and uneven terrain.
