The Inside Sales Administrator plays a critical role at the intersection of sales, operations, and customer experience. This position is responsible for managing inside sales activities, customer service, order processing, and administrative coordination. As a primary point of contact for customers, this role works closely with sales, engineering, production, and shipping teams to ensure accurate information, seamless order flow, and on-time delivery of custom control panels and related components.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer & Sales Support
Serve as the first point of contact for inbound customer inquiries via phone, email, and web leads, providing prompt, professional, and knowledgeable support.Qualify and nurture leads, provide product and application information, prepare quotes, and follow up consistently to support order closure.Build strong customer relationships by maintaining clear communication and recommending alternative or value-added solutions when appropriate.Upsell complementary components, expedited services, and maintenance options to enhance customer value.Quoting, Orders & Documentation
Prepare and deliver accurate proposals, formal quotations, and sales acknowledgements.Enter, review, and manage sales orders in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy of part numbers, BOMs, specifications, and pricing.Generate and distribute sales documentation including invoices, packing lists, and certificates of compliance.Maintain organized and up-to-date customer records, pricing lists, and quote/order history.Order Coordination & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate order acceptance, production routing, scheduling, and shipping with operations, purchasing, and logistics teams.Track orders from entry through shipment and proactively communicate status updates, delays, or changes to customers and internal stakeholders.Collaborate with engineering and estimating teams to clarify specifications, drawings, subassemblies, and approvals.Review customer documentation for completeness and escalate technical questions as needed to ensure timely resolution.Administrative & Reporting Support
Ensure all inbound calls, web forms, and online inquiries are properly routed and resolved.Prepare routine reports for leadership including sales metrics, backlog status, and outstanding quotes.Assist with inventory checks, purchase requisitions for common stock items, and vendor follow-ups.Schedule internal and customer meetings, calls, and site visits to support active projects.Support marketing efforts by updating product listings, assisting with tradeshow logistics, and helping prepare marketing materials.Required Skills & Experience2+ years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or administrative support; experience in manufacturing, electrical, or controls environments preferred.Hands-on experience with CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, Epicor, NetSuite, or similar).Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Strong communication skills with a customer-first mindset.Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability, with confidence managing multiple orders and priorities.Basic technical aptitude, including the ability to interpret part numbers, BOMs, and simple schematics.Problem-solving mindset and comfort escalating issues when appropriate.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with electrical control panels, PLCs, relays, enclosures, and wiring.Experience supporting engineered-to-order or custom-manufactured products.Experience in inside sales or account management within a technical or industrial environment.Comfort contributing to marketing initiatives, product listings, and tradeshow support.Work Environment & CultureThis is an onsite position in a friendly, close-knit organization with a true “mom-and-pop” feel. The workspace is generally comfortable and often air-conditioned, with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and weekends off.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
