The IU Health Diabetes Centers is excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for an Inpatient RN Diabetes Educator, where you can grow and expand your professional skills while making impactful contributions to patient care. This position plays a vital role in meeting the diabetes education needs at IU Health Methodist Hospital, located in Indianapolis, IN.
Position Overview:
As a Diabetes Educator, you will work collaboratively within a supportive team environment to enhance the knowledge and skills of patients and community members in managing diabetes. Your work will include developing personalized education and treatment strategies based on clinical best practices to promote healthier lifestyle choices.
Schedule:
Day shift: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PMRotating Saturdays (approximately five times per year)What We Offer:

Key Responsibilities:
Utilize the nursing process to provide education on diabetes management to patients and the community.Explain treatment plans and procedures clearly to patients.Conduct health screenings and assessments.Develop and deliver educational programs on diabetes prevention and management.Serve diverse populations as outlined in the department’s scope of service.Qualifications:
Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.May require specialty certification.
