Job Description:

POSITION TITLE:  Ink/Color Mixer/Matcher

REPORTS TO:  Ink Room Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to make inks for the manufacturing units.  Under the direction of the Ink Room Coordinator, produce inks; in a safe manner, correctly and consistently, and on time; in accordance with ITW Graphics-IDS Safety and Quality Specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIESSchedule finished ink production from Business Unit Orders; schedule master batch production from Kanban cards.                   Produces finished inks and masterbatches according to all relevant Work Instructions.Carry out quality checks on finished inks and masterbatches according to all relevant Work Instructions.      Make adjustments to inks as directed by Ink Department Coordinator or R&D.Assist in maintaining raw materials and masterbatch inventories.  Notify Ink Department Coordinator when materials are low.  Maintain the hazardous waste area to ensure full compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.Dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes in accordance with prescribed procedures.Ensure all safety rules and regulations are followed.  Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.     Comply with all current ISO standards. Other duties as assigned.

          POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma.  Manufacturing experience preferred.

Experience/Skills: 

Must be able to read, understand and follow all relevant work instructions.  Must possess basic math skills in order to carry out duties, most notably the ability to calculate percentages.  Must possess basic computer skills allowing operation of Quality Control instrumentation, ink scheduling, and recordkeeping.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will constantly (67% - 100%) be required to twist/turn, stand, walk, and grasp, and frequently (34% - 66%) be required to bend/squat, crawl, handle and manipulate small items. They will occasionally (1% - 33%) be required to climb, reach above shoulder, reach outward, sit, and type.The employee must carry up to 65 pounds frequently, and 100 pounds or greater with the use of lifting equipment often. Specific vision abilities required by this job include concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring object into sharp focus.  Manual dexterity; arm-hand steadiness; ability to quickly make precise adjustments in moving the controls of a machine; finger dexterity; multi-limb coordination; flexibility; quick reaction time.

Hand tools, ink mixers, lifting devices.  Proper use of required PPE.

Compensation Information:

$18.10 - $24.40/hr
