Infrastructure Engineer III- Cloud Infrastructure

As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Cloud Foundational Platforms, you will leverage your expertise in software, applications, and technical processes to contribute to the infrastructure engineering discipline. You will apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills across various applications of moderate scope.
 

Job responsibilities

Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applicationsResolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation pathExecutes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problemsDrives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applicationsPartners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statusesConsiders upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implicationsBe accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applicationsAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respectPartner with engineering and product teams to ensure remediation/permanent closure of issues and to identify trending issues to drive product improvementContribute to client self-service capabilities by collaborating with partner teams and demonstrate a high aptitude for both learning and teaching as product teams are continually releasing new features and productsNote: This role involves weekend on-call work and follows a global "follow-the-sun" model. The team provides 24/7 support through a distributed team across various time zones.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experienceStrong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessmentsStrong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private cloudsDrives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledgeA drive to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledgeFamiliarity with working in a large distributed system across a range of technologies including compute, databases, messaging, observability, and telemetryKnowledge of incident, change, and problem management processesAWS certification(s)

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Significant programming background in any applicable languageKubernetes, Azure, GCP, or Terraform certifications
