Description
Our client is seeking a motivated and technically curious IT Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain our enterprise and OT (Operational Technology) systems and networks. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in infrastructure technologies who is eager to grow their skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure our systems are secure, reliable, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide onsite and remote support for IT and OT infrastructure in a 24x7 manufacturing environment.
• Participate in on-call rotation schedule.
• Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of critical systems, including MES and enterprise platforms.
• Support the setup and troubleshooting of systems involving Nutanix virtualization, Veeam Backup, Microsoft Server OS, and Microsoft Azure.
• Help administer Microsoft infrastructure technologies not limited to: Azure AD/Entra ID, M365, Active Directory, MFA, and PKI environments.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and implement infrastructure improvements.
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
• Follow IT security best practices and assist in identifying potential vulnerabilities.
• Participate in infrastructure projects and contribute to planning and documentation.
• Maintain accurate system documentation, including backup and recovery procedures.
• Track and report on IT tasks and KPIs as directed.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
• Be an escalation point for the IT Solution Center Help Desk.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2–4 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure environments.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Server administration and Active Directory.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and basic command-line usage.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as Nutanix, VMware, or Hyper-V.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, NTP).
• Experience with backup and recovery tools like Veeam is a plus.
• Scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell) is a plus.
• Experience implementing and supporting MFA solutions.
• Understanding of PKI concepts and hands-on experience with certificate management.
• Knowledge of NTP configuration and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contributing to group problem-solving and decision-making.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn, with a proactive approach to tackling new challenges.
• Comfortable working with rapidly changing priorities and ambiguity.
Preferred Experience
• Experience in manufacturing or OT environments.
• Experience with Azure Cloud Automation or Nutanix.
• Familiar with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience integrating MFA, PKI, and NTP with enterprise systems.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.
• Proven track record of successful collaboration in cross-functional teams.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $62.00/hr.
