As an IT Infrastructure Engineer you will design, implement, and maintain core infrastructure systems across our enterprise environment. We are seeking a candidate with deep expertise in VMware, FC Storage, SAS Storage, Citrix (including ADC), and backup solutions (Commvault and Veeam).
You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, security, and performance across all systems, while supporting project delivery and ongoing operations.
Main Duties
Virtual Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and maintain VMware-based virtual environments, including vSphere, ESXi hosts, and vCenter.Storage Systems: Manage and maintain FC and SAS storage infrastructure; ensure high-performance, resilient storage availability.Citrix Environment: Implement, Administer and optimise Citrix environments including XenApp/XenDesktop and NetScaler for secure application delivery – On-Prem and Cloud.Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage enterprise backup solutions using Commvault and Veeam to ensure data protection and recoverability.Physical Infrastructure: Lead installation and configuration of physical servers, SAN/NAS storage, and associated data centre hardware.Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor system performance and capacity, conduct routine maintenance, and proactively resolve issues before they impact operations.Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices across systems and support audits and compliance initiatives as needed.Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation, including architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and disaster recovery plans.Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams including networking, applications, and service desk to deliver robust infrastructure solutions.You may also be required to provide Level 1 and Level 2 support as and when needed, including assisting with user incidents, hardware/software troubleshooting, and escalation managementQualificationsProven hands-on experience supporting and managing enterprise infrastructure.Citrix (including NetScaler, Virtual Apps and Desktops)VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)SAN environments - Fibre Channel (FC) and Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) storage technologiesQualys or similar vulnerability management platformsCommvault and Veeam backup and recovery solutions.Demonstrated expertise in physical server and storage hardware installation and maintenance.Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutionsExchange Server 2016/2019SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) for deployment and patch managementActive Directory Tiering Model and Group Policy ObjectsProven ability to work independently on complex technical projects and troubleshoot high-impact infrastructure issues.Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.Additional InformationIn return for your hard work and loyal service, we will offer you genuine career and salary progression through our Career Pathways programme, a competitive salary, and a selection of employee benefits via our flexible benefits menu which includes cycle to work, give as you earn, volunteering days, buy and sell holiday.
