Job Description

SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION

Information Development includes the development, production, and delivery of information products in English, in support of Rockwell Automation software products. An Information Developer (A.K.A. Technical Writer) will be responsible for developing online Help systems, technical user manuals and guides, and any additional deliverables necessary to meet product specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation (e.g. help files, release notes, user manuals, etc.)Research and resolve issues in a SAFe development environmentRespond with urgency to the requests for information and technical assistanceCommunicate successfully on a geographically distributed global team

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Approximately 3 years of relevant work experienceStrong technical writing and verbal communication skills in EnglishDemonstrated teamwork and quick learning capabilitiesFamiliar with the Microsoft Manual of Styles writing guidelinesProficient in the content development tools, including Oxygen, Adobe Experience Manager, Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft Office SuiteBasic understanding of Industrial Automation or software systemsWorking knowledge of computer technologies, such as HTML, XML, DITA, and a solid grasp of general IT conceptsCandidates with experience in software programming, particularly in languages such as Python, are highly preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Major & English proficiency:Majored in English-related fields (language and literature, translation, linguistics, etc.)Passed the Test for English Majors Band 8 (TEM-8) with a proficiency level of Good or above
