Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital - Frisco is preparing to open its doors in Spring 2027, and we are assembling an elite team of cardiovascular professionals who want more than a job—they want to help define the future of heart care in one of the nation’s fastest growing regions.
As a new team member, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping a new, state of the art heart hospital designed with one purpose in mind: delivering world class, patient centered cardiovascular care. In anticipation of our opening, select roles will begin as early as Summer 2026, allowing you to complete comprehensive orientation and training at our nationally recognized Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospitals. This immersive experience ensures you are fully prepared, aligned with our culture, and equipped with the highest standards of clinical excellence well before the Frisco campus opens.

Job SummaryThe Infection Preventionist 1 works under the Infection Prevention Manager's supervision. They implement and review the facility's infection prevention program. They ensure standards and guidelines from professional organizations and agencies are included. They also serve as a resource for infection prevention issues for all facility personnel.
Essential Functions of the RoleImplements infection prevention strategies to prevent and control the transmission of infectious agents, applying epidemiologic values and evidence-based guidelinesConducts on-going surveillance using Centers for Disease Control (CDC) infection criteriaReports patients with communicable diseases to the appropriate health authorityMonitors compliance with national standards and bodies like JC, CDC, OSHA, and FDA through observations, audits, and other methods.Provides education to increase employee awareness of existence of healthcare-associated infectionsParticipates in quality/performance improvement activities by assessing, monitoring, and measuring healthcare-associated infections and evaluating outcomes on a continuous basisPartners with teams to create, educate, and sustain evidence-based infection prevention strategies, as well as provide feedbackParticipates in educational activities, professional meetings, and peer networking.
