As an Infection Preventionist, you will implement, promote and maintain an active Infection Prevention Program through surveillance, investigative activities, consultation, education, policy development and research. In this role, you will interact with a multidepartment team of SQPE, accreditation and nursing specialists, serving as a leader in the field. There may be on call requirements throughout the year.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Conduct surveillance for hospital acquired infections, analyze data, generate reports and identify trends. + Provide recommendations for improvement. + Investigate clusters of infections and outbreaks. + Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures. + Conduct audits on infection prevention practices. + Provide education and serve as a consultant to various levels of care providers. + Coordinate infection prevention committee meetings and other related activities. + Coordinate the annual Infection Prevention Risk Assessment, review and evaluation of the organization's Infection Prevention Plan and report communicable diseases as required. + Collaborate with health departments in complying with issues related to outbreaks and control of communicable diseases. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor's Degree + Three years of recent relevant clinical experience, including Nursing, Infection Prevention, Respiratory Therapy or Medical Technology OR CBIC Certification and two years of experience + Strong communication, clinical assessment and computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other related programs) + Certified by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC) within two years of hire Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures. **Pay Range** Minimum Annual Salary: $63,250.00 Maximum Annual Salary: $96,467.50 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
