As an Infection Preventionist, you will implement, promote and maintain an active Infection Prevention Program through surveillance, investigative activities, consultation, education, policy development and research. In this role, you will interact with a multidepartment team of SQPE, accreditation and nursing specialists, serving as a leader in the field. Here, you can use your niche skills and interest to explore endless opportunities and grow, all while helping keep patients and fellow caregivers safe from various sicknesses every day.

A caregiver in this position works 9:00am to 5:00pm with on-call expectations 2/3+ per year. Evening and weekends may be required based on facility needs.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Conduct surveillance for hospital acquired infections, analyze data, generate reports and identify trends.Provide recommendations for improvement.Investigate clusters of infections and outbreaks.Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures.Conduct audits on infection prevention practices.Provide education and serve as a consultant to various levels of care providers.Coordinate infection prevention committee meetings and other related activities.Coordinate the annual Infection Prevention Risk Assessment, review and evaluation of the organization's Infection Prevention Plan and report communicable diseases as required.Collaborate with health departments in complying with issues related to outbreaks and control of communicable diseases.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor's DegreeThree years of recent relevant clinical experience, including Nursing, Infection Prevention, Respiratory Therapy or Medical Technology OR CBIC Certification and two years of experienceStrong communication, clinical assessment and computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other related programs)Certified by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC) within two years of hire

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
