Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a detail‑oriented Infection Prevention Coordinator to support the hospital’s Infection Control Program through rigorous data analysis, regulatory compliance, performance improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe clinical environment, preventing healthcare‑associated infections, and supporting hospital‑wide quality and patient safety goals.
The Coordinator will work closely with the Infection Prevention Director, clinical staff, physicians, and leadership teams to conduct surveillance, investigate communicable diseases, educate staff, and advance evidence‑based infection prevention practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Infection Surveillance & Reporting
• Monitor hospital infection trends and conduct routine surveillance.
• Investigate communicable diseases and report findings to the Infection Prevention Director.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Policy Support
• Help ensure the hospital meets all infection control regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Assist in reviewing and updating infection prevention policies and procedures.
3. Data Collection & Quality Improvement
• Gather, analyze, and report infection-related data.
• Support performance improvement teams with data-driven insights.
• Conduct audits, chart reviews, and other quality checks.
4. Education & Staff Support
• Provide infection prevention education and training to physicians, nurses, and staff.
• Offer consultative support on infection control practices.
• Assist in onboarding and mentoring new staff.
5. Collaboration & Committee Participation
• Work with hospital departments, physicians, and quality teams to ensure safe practices.
• Participate in committees, including Infection Control Committee activities.
6. Operational & Administrative Tasks
• Perform data entry, maintain documentation, and support program operations.
• Contribute to service excellence and teamwork across units.

Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field required.
• At least 3 years of experience in infection prevention or clinical healthcare.
○ 1 year of clinical experience.
○ Able to recognize clinical risk factors (e.g. central lines, bedside care indicators).
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required or must be obtained within 24 months of employment.
• Comfortable conducting bedside rounds and engaging directly with clinical staff and patients.
Preferred:
• Cerner experience.
• Registered Nurse preferred.
