Nalco Water an Ecolab Company, is seeking an Industry Technical Consultant. You will be primarily responsible for revenue and profit growth of Nalco Water programs and services in targeted accounts within the F&B, Chemical, Power and Primary metals, Mining, Manufacturing Industries. You will be required to take a consultative sales approach, with a primary emphasis on strong account leadership skills and retention of strategic Nalco Water Light accounts. In addition, you must build long-term relationships with a large customer base by understanding their key business drivers, executing system assurance programs, and selling new technologies.

What You Will Do:
Provide onsite audit support for pre-bid technical qualification, including laboratory testing & qualification if needed, and technical product recommendations
Comprehend best practices and promote best practices through training and implementation
Participate in training initiatives and develop training material as directed
Understand the scope of technical needs and perform as needed
Provide local, on-site support and training for new technology
Assist in development and execution of field trials
Provide trial support and identification of key performance indicators
Write and distribute call reports detailing activities, recommendations and other observations directly related to site visits
Develop case studies as needed to provide technical support and interface, and be recognized as an expert on company technology and understanding of customer processes
Understand company’s application portfolio and the processes directly impacted by the portfolio within defined industry segment
Understand the value of company programs to the customer, and have the ability to actively promote this value to the customer and within the organization
Participate in industry trade associations through presentation of papers or other activities
Identify opportunities for KMS support and updates accordingly
Act as a contributor or main author to papers
Provide support through to sales associates
Contributes knowledge of industry technical and market trends, works well in trial situations with research, marketing, etc. Takes the lead on some projects
Must be able to write good trip reports and technical reports as needed, and lead efforts to document and present work
Supports group goals set by director by implementing strategies (tactical), as well as by providing technical and field marketing data to support decisions and future goals
Help to train ITC II in their areas of expertise
Ability to participate on, and lead multifunctional project teams
Manage own budget provided by director
Position Details:
Candidate must reside in: Girona Area, Celra Plant
Route territory will include: Spain and Portugal
Travel required to support the sales territory (5 days away in another part of Spain)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Ability to travel within a geographic territory
Ability to travel overnight for business
Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial), or Life Sciences (Environmental sciences, Biology, Chemistry, etc.)
8-10 years of successful technical sales or field sales support experience
Significant technical proficiency and understanding of company technology
Knowledge of water treatment in different industrial sectors (mining, paper, pharmaceutical, chemical, refinery, textile care, energy and primary metals, food and beverages, and automotive).
