Job Summary
The Industrial Relations Officer II at Jabil supports the effective management of employee relations, labor relations, and compliance with employment laws, company policies, and RBA standards to foster a positive and productive work environment. The role provides operational support, assists in disciplinary and grievance matters, and ensures consistent application of IR procedures across all Jabil Malaysia sites, reporting to the IR Section Manager.
Job Responsibilities
* Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements, company policies, RBA, and relevant labor laws.
* Maintain accurate and confidential records related to employee relations cases, disciplinary actions, and labor agreements.
* Develop and deliver training programs for employees and managers on employee conduct, grievance procedures, and fair labor practices.
* Collaborate with HR business partners and legal counsel on complex employee relations issues and ensure consistent application of HR policies.
* Support disciplinary processes and Domestic Inquiry (DI) proceedings.
* Monitor and analyze labor relations trends and recommend proactive strategies to mitigate risks and improve employee engagement.
* Prepare reports and presentations on industrial relations activities and outcomes.
* Review and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
* Support on RBA, medical services, and dormitory topics as needed
* Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
* Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field.
* 2–4 years’ experience in industrial relations, labor relations, or HR generalist role, preferably within a unionized manufacturing or large-scale corporate environment.
* Solid understanding of local labor laws (Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967, Trade Union Act 1959) and RBA standards), regulations, and best practices in employee relations.
* Proven ability to conduct effective investigations and interviews.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to articulate complex information clearly.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse employee groups.
* Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of Power BI is an advantage.
* Analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of supporting multiple stakeholders.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
