Industrial Refrigeration Design Engineer
Based in Midlands/South
To design and propose industrial and commercial project to customer and legislative specific requirements. To create a design from an initial brief and/or drawing to specific customer specifications, whilst adhering to the latest company and industry standards.
Principal Responsibilities:
Service:
Carry out site surveys where requiredGenerate and update enquiry bankAttend customer scoping and design meetings where requiredProduce initial outline design/scopeProduce Design File (electronic or hard copy) in line with ISO 9001 standardProduce detailed design, consisting of but not limited to: Cold room heat load calculation, cabinet heat loadcalculations,, produce engineering sheets and pipework isometric drawings, equipment selections and pipe work sizingProduce supplier/sub-contractor enquiries for quotationsProduce data for Design of Contracts project handover including: Equipment/supplier/sub-contractor procurement schedule, identify PED category of system and inform compliance team if CAT 4, calculate system refrigerant charge, produce high level program of works and high level phasing if requiredRaise Contract Approval Form to enable project to be booked on systemOrder any long lead time items to ensure project meets programMark up drawings and issue to CAD department to produceAttend site at least once during project installation period, to carry out design reviewAssist PM with project shut downsMaintain excellent service levels at all times, ensuring a “first Class” service to all customersTake on projects as and when required and see them through to successful completionFinancial:
Produce estimates in line with customer budgets and to agreed company marginsProduce formal scope of works and formal quotationsAssist CM with project variation design and costsAll contracts over £500k to have contract/design review with senior member of staffTo prepare quotations (once the design is complete) to meet both the customer budgetary demands and the company’s target margins.To identify means of generating extra revenue through new initiatives (forward thinking)People:
One to one session with line manager once a quarterTo treat other colleagues, managers, customers and other stakeholders equally and with courtesy and respect at all times Where possible - to assist others with tasks that may be outside of the scope of your roleTo assist with coaching other colleagues/managers, for cross training purposed in your area of expertiseCompliance:
Ensure that all relevant company and legislative policies and best practices are adhered to and maintained at all timesInform the relevant Manager of non-conformances and ensure that corrective action is takenEnsure compliance with all procedures throughout within your remitProduce Design File (electronic or hard copy) in line with ISO 9001 standardTo ensure Refrigeration industry codes and standards are upheldTo comply with Integrals environmental policies and putting forward new ideas for improving environmental efficiencies.Adhere to Group H&S procedures with due regard for business constraints and efficiencyPerson Specification:
