Industries uses manufacturing as a component of the Department’s overall re-entry program, which is designed to teach incarcerated individuals work ethic and skills. The program teaches incarcerated individuals’ meaningful job skills and soft skills to enable a successful transition back to society upon release and obtaining meaningful employment. Corcraft uses a business model to guide decisions and balance costs, market process and other demands from both the correctional system, and outside customers. Corcraft employs roughly 230 civilian staff and 1,000 incarcerated individuals across 26 correctional facilities throughout New York State.The Industrial Quality Control Analyst (IQCA) oversees Corcraft’s statewide quality control system at their fourteen (14) manufacturing locations. The IQCA is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance to the quality control system through performance metrics. The IQCA works with Quality Control Supervisors in the facilities to ensure raw materials and finished goods meet Corcraft’s quality standard. The IQCA is responsible for training facility staff and incarcerated individuals in the implementation of quality control procedures. The IQCA is responsible for conducting audits of facilities using GAP analysis.The Industrial Quality Control Analyst serves as a department head in Corcraft’s central office and is an important member of the Assistant Director for Operations team. The IQCA assists in the development and modification of finished goods specifications for raw materials and provides technical expertise to the procurement of raw materials and finished goods. The IQCA works with Engineering and Customer Service to address customer complaints utilizing root cause analysis and facilitates the implementation of subsequent corrective actions. The IQCA support continuous improvement activities throughout the organization. Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: One year of permanent service as a Production Control Supervisor, Quality Control Supervisor, General Industrial Training Supervisor (various parenthetics), or Assistant Industrial Superintendent; OR Seven years of engineering or quality control or quality assurance experience, in a manufacturing operation. Substitution: An associate’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing engineering substitutes for two years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing engineering substitutes for four years of experience; or a master’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing engineering substitutes for five years of experience.In addition to the above minimum qualifications, preferred qualifications and/or skillsets are:• LEAN and/or Six Sigma green or black belt• Proficiency in CADD/CAM software, specifically AutoCAD• Knowledge of computer numerical control (CNC) operations• Experience in engineering statistics• Familiarity with a variety of metrology and test equipment• Experience working in a diverse manufacturing environment• Effective communication skills for all quality-related information inclusive of all stakeholders• Knowledge of the assurance sciences and quality control reliabilityCorcraft is the "brand name" of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Correctional Industries Program.
