Job Title: Industrial Painter

Job Description

The role of Industrial Painter involves painting and sandblasting large industrial components, manufacturing equipment, and small parts. This includes all aspects of preparation, setup, masking, spraying with cap guns, and finishing. Occasionally, the use of a blast booth is required. In addition to production work, the role also involves assisting with general facility tasks to maintain efficiency and safety. Although documentation and inspection are currently managed by the supervisor, there is potential for the contractor to expand into these responsibilities over time, offering growth opportunities in quality control and leadership support.

Responsibilities

Paint and sandblast large industrial components and small parts.Prepare, set up, mask, and spray using cap guns.Occasionally use the blast booth.Assist with general facility tasks to maintain efficiency and safety.Potentially expand into documentation and inspection responsibilities over time.

Essential Skills

5+ years of industrial painting experience in a shop setting.Proficiency in painting, industrial painting, paint preparation, spray gun operation, grinding, and sanding.Experience with airless spraying guns and direct metal paint (DTM).Capability to perform touch-ups and work in a paint booth.

Work Environment

The facility is located in SE Calgary on Sheppard Road and currently employs roughly 80 trades workers, with plans for significant expansion in 2024. The initial shift is from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with flexibility needed during busy seasons when the shift may start at 4:30 AM. Once trained, you will move to an afternoon shift from 5:30 PM to 5:00 AM, Monday to Friday, with a $3 shift premium.
