Job Title: Industrial Painter

Pay Rate: $24-$32/Hr

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter with a strong knowledge of epoxy and cementitious coatings, surface preparation methods, and experience working in confined spaces. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in and around confined spaces, such as manholes and underground structures, and must adhere to safety protocols by wearing proper PPE on site.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by grinding and sanding to ensure smoothness.Work in confined spaces, including manholes and underground structures.Apply primer, paint, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, ensuring even and smooth coverage.Mix and match paint colors according to project specifications and client preferences.Monitor drying times and apply additional coats as needed to ensure proper adhesion and finish.Use a wet film thickness (WFT) gauge for coating applications.Interpret data sheets and apply knowledge to meet production goals of 2000-4000 square feet per week for a team of two.

Essential Skills

Expertise in painting, industrial and commercial painting, and epoxy coatings.Proficiency in paint preparation, using rollers and brushes.Ability to perform basic math calculations for mixing and measurements.Familiarity with ribbon lacing and temperature management.Experience with using tools such as gauge rake and squeegee.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Certifications such as SSPC and NACE are preferred.

Work Environment

Work hours are from 9pm to 7am, Monday through Friday, totaling a 50-hour work week. Coating applications must be completed by 4am due to outdoor heat considerations. The role involves physical activities including walking, standing, bending, and climbing. Spiked cleats will be provided if needed, and they indicate a required level of experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.39 - $32.00/hr.
