Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

Join our team as a Maintenance Mechanic, where you will play a critical role in supporting the production team as a mechanical expert. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the proper functioning of production and support equipment, performing preventative maintenance on various industrial machinery, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Ensure production and support equipment are functioning properly.Perform preventative maintenance procedures on motors, conveyor systems, filling equipment, and other industrial machinery.Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.Conduct basic electrical duties and collaborate with industrial electricians or PLC programmers for complex situations.Execute package changeovers on production lines as required.Support the team in all operational aspects and train team members on mechanical processes.Focus on continuous improvement and maintain a safe, clean work environment in accordance with ISO Good Manufacturing Practices standards.

Essential Skills

Mechanical aptitude and repair skills.Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting and electrical troubleshooting.Experience with manufacturing and industrial maintenance.Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and blueprint reading.Capability in preventive maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance craft such as electrical and/or mechanical industrial experience. Skills in welding, machine shop, or millwright environments are beneficial.PLC knowledge is ideal, though programming experience is not required.

Work Environment

This position requires flexibility in shift hours, with openings available for the 2nd and 3rd shifts. The role involves the ability to work overtime daily and on weekends as needed. You will frequently lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver around equipment, climb stairs, and use ladders to perform tasks. A commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment is essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Orleans, LA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
