Job Description:
Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) or Industrial Electrician position supports the package sorting system, including belt conveyors, at our state-of-the-art Caledon Automated Hub. In our industry, this position is also known as Plant Mechanic or Industrial Mechanic. This position is responsible for a broad range of maintenance activities that are performed to keep UPS package handling facilities operating efficiently and effectively. The work can be fast-paced and requires routine interaction with other operations employees.

Workdays: 5 consecutive days (Flexibility required to work occasional weekends & non-regular shifts, especially in peak season)
Pay rate: Starting from $38.99/hr. (Base Rate $30.00/hr. + Hourly Bonus of $8.99/hr.)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repairing and/or replacing mechanical components, including but not limited to motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer platesPerforming regularly scheduled maintenance on various conveyors and other specialized conveyance & sortation systemsTroubleshooting, adjusting and replacing parts for large-scale automated parcel sortation equipmentPerforming investigative and corrective maintenance based on inspection findings for various kinds of equipmentInspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic and hydraulic equipmentWelding equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and gratingPerforming preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, sorters, bulk carts, and powered industrial equipmentREQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 education or equivalentPossession of a valid 433A Millwright or 442A Industrial Electrician Certification of Qualification is required (extensive relevant experience working with conveyor & sortation equipment, or possession of a valid welding certification, may also be considered)Ability to read/interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals is a requirement3 years of post-apprenticeship experience performing maintenance on conveyor equipment preferredAbility to communicate effectively, convey & receive instruction, and coordinate with partners over the radio in an industrial environmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExperience working in high pressure environmentsExperience in performing maintenance on conveyor belts is highly preferredKnowledge of building schematics & drawings is an assetKnowledge of the keyboard and basic computer skills is an assetCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
