Industrial Engineering Intern
Position Summary: Assist with the development of engineered labor standards (ELS) and in determining any improvements that can benefit Martin-Brower operations. People or Process Management Responsibility: None Primary Facing Assumptions: Internal customers Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Define work elements, complete observations and works with direct Supervisor to present labor standard recommendations to local Management team. Conducts pre-implementation validation testing of recommended standards. Implement engineered labor standards in food Distribution Centers throughout the United States. Supports Distribution Centers in change management by updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), leading training, developing reports, etc. Any other duties required. Essential skills and experience: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent major (Rising Juniors through recent Graduates may be considered). Familiar with statistical analysis and regression. Familiar with software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Power BI, etc. Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels including educating hourly associates on engineered labor standards. Self-motivated with strong capability to work independently Strong attention to detail, independent thinking, & problem solving Safety conscious and willing to work in a distribution center environment Must be willing to travel between 75-100% Physical demands and work environment: Applicants must be able to work any shift and any day of the week. Work may require extended periods of time standing or sitting. Work environment temperatures may range from to sub-zero to over 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Required Education and Experience:   High School Diploma/General Education Diploma and currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree with 0 to 1 years of general work experience Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
