Building Location:Essentia Health Distribution CenterDepartment:2047700 LOGISTICS - SMDC HOSPJob Description:Responsible to oversee and enhance the operational performance of the distribution center. This role is responsible for maximizing efficiency across all distribution functions, including space utilization, inbound receiving, transportation (internal and external), inventory replenishment, order fulfillment, and outbound shipping. The ideal candidate will identify bottlenecks, implement solutions, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure seamless logistics operations.Education Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze Distribution Center Operations: Evaluate current DC processes, layouts, and workflows to identify areas for improvementDevelop Optimization Strategies: Design and implement strategies to optimize space utilization, inventory management, and labor efficiencyTechnology Solutions: Maximize the use of technology solutions, recommend improvements and act as key participant in any future technology selection processesMonitor Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track improvements and ensure goals are metCollaborate with Teams: Work closely with DC staff, management, automation vendor, and other departments to ensure seamless implementation of optimization initiativesConduct Training: Provide training and support to DC personnel on new processes and technologiesEnsure Compliance: Ensure all DC operations comply with safety regulations and company policiesRequired to be onsiteEducation Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, or BusinessRequired Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years in a warehouse or distribution center in a similar roleExpertise and experience in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and planning systems requiredStrong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various teamsExperience with Lean, Six-Sigma process improvement methodologiesPreferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years in a warehouse / distribution center in a similar roleExperience with demand planning, transportation planning, and reporting platforms preferred.Experience with automated warehouse systems including ASRS, conveyor systems and mobile device technologyCertificate in Lean or Six-SigmaCertified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Logistics, Transportation, Distribution (CLTD), Certified Warehouse Logistics Professional (CWLP)Licensure/Certification Qualifications:FTE:1Possible Remote/Hybrid Option:
