Industrial Engineer, Industrial Operations - Jacksonville
Come join the Publix Industrial Engineering team as an IE supporting our Central Pharmacy operations.  Publix is passionately focused on providing an exceptional shopping experience, and you’ll support that mission by ensuring our back-end facilities run efficiently and supply over 1,400 Publix pharmacies across the Southeast with the high-quality products our customers expect.

We are seeking a skilled industrial engineer to support the launch and ongoing activities of a new high-volume Central Fill site in St. Johns, scheduled to open in April 2026.  Located just 26 miles south of Jacksonville, this state-of-the-art, highly automated facility will complement an existing Orlando central fill location.  Publix is the #1 supermarket for customer satisfaction, and these pharmacy sites play a key role in that accomplishment by efficiently fulfilling prescriptions via automation and distributing them to our stores for customer pickup.  This incremental position offers a unique opportunity to be involved with the new operation from the earliest stages, working closely with leadership to establish a safe, efficient, and high-quality production environment.  Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the processes and strategies that set the foundation for long-term success.

You will initially be based in Orlando to gain hands-on experience with that site’s pharmacy operations and to learn from our experienced Pharmacy IE team.  Publix Pharmacy facilities in Orlando include a large distribution center, a highly automated Central Fill operation that dispenses and supplies customer prescriptions to our stores, and Central Processing operations where pharmacists remotely verify customer prescriptions to assist our store pharmacists.  We also have a Specialty Pharmacy operation servicing high cost medication for patients with complex disease states, and a Compounding Pharmacy operation where medicines are custom-made to suit the needs of individual patients.

Beginning in February 2026, Publix will relocate you from Orlando to St. Johns, where you will assist with the commissioning, opening, and ongoing success of the new facility.  In addition to your primary responsibilities in St. Johns, you will continue to collaborate remotely with your IE peers in Orlando and occasionally travel there for on-site projects.
