Join us. **Job Description** AECOM is seeking a **Industrial Commercial Internet of things(SME) - IIOT** to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world. **Major Responsibilities:** - Technical leadership serving as the technical expert on all IIoT-related matters throughout the project lifecycle. - Assess systems and processes to identify opportunities for IIoT integration. - Lead the design of IIoT architecture, including sensors, gateways, networks, and cloud connectivity. - End-to-end IIoT architectures, including edge devices and sensors, Industrial networks, Cloud platforms and data analytics - Selection of appropriate integration protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, JSON ) and hardware/software stacks. - Selection of appropriate data transport protocols relative to use cases, class of devices and cost of solution(s) (e.g. 802.11,802.3, LoRaWAN, LTE, 5G , PtP / MESH Radio etc…) - Integration of solutions with legacy systems (e.g., SCADA, PLCs, ERP) and modern platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT, PTC ThingWorx, other sensory aggregation platforms - Ensure interoperability between different devices and platforms. - Oversee selection and deployment of sensors, actuators, smart controllers, and edge computing devices - Calibration and configuration of devices to meet operational requirements. - Collaborate with IT/OT teams, engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure system interoperability and alignment with operational goals. - Oversee the configuration, calibration, and deployment of IIoT devices and edge computing solutions. - Support the development of predictive maintenance models, performance optimization, and other analytics-driven use cases. - Implement and enforce cybersecurity protocols in line with industry and clients IT standards (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443, NIST, ISO 27001), Cyber Security measures (embedded in the design) - Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and operational standards. - Produce and maintain system documentation, specifications, and design standards. - Accountable for ensuring alignment of designs with the strategic direction of IT and the business units. - Supporting the Business Analysts in development of comprehensive business cases / use cases for each initiative. - Collaborates and cultivates effective relationships with key stakeholders to understand and clarify business and technical requirements and facilitate architecture projects and initiatives. - Supports integration of PDB deliverables with Airport clients Operational Systems - Plan for and build strategy to support major airport development projects and programs, with attention and focus to major automation, OT and IT integration, information, and data sharing solutions. - Provide expertise and contribute to the establishment of foundational policies related to information technology infrastructure required to support evolution of autonomous modes of transport for passengers and baggage at Toronto Pearson airport. - Interfaces with Head of Enterprise Architecture, Head of Information Security, Head of Risk, Enterprise Architect, IT Project Manager, Solution Architect, Data Architect , Business Analyst, Design Consultants, Progressive Design Build Contractors, OEMs and ADTS PMO Team **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** - An Engineering Degree (Software/Computer Science, Electrical Engineering) and Professional Engineering designation is an asset. - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field. - Minimum of 8+ years of experience in industrial automation, IoT, or control systems. - Holds IIoT-related certifications such as Cisco IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT, and ISA/IEC 62443. - Knowledge of Digital /IP CCTV Systems, Maximo, Hexagon CAD, ESB Message Broker Integration Platforms, AI/ML in Industrial Applications, AutoCAD, Revit - Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance **Preferred Requirements:** + Over 10 years of experience working in a Class C Canadian airport environment, delivering services of comparable scope and complexity. + Proven expertise in IIoT protocols including MQTT, OPC UA, and Modbus. + Skilled in edge computing platforms such as Siemens, Advantech, and Azure IoT Edge. + Proficient in cloud-based IoT platforms including AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, and PTC ThingWorx. + Strong understanding of control systems architecture, including SCADA, PLCs, and OT/IT convergence. + Experienced in secure IIoT network design and implementation of cybersecurity frameworks. + In-depth knowledge of advanced technologies such as Lidar, video analytics, and MAC/IMEI tracking. + Familiar with LoRaWAN, PWN, and digital twin concepts, with the ability to conceptualize sensor-driven designs for data aggregation and ingestion. + Well-versed in modern technology ecosystems including SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, and microservices. + Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with a strong customer focus and conflict resolution skills. + Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, while also excelling in collaborative environments. + Driven by a passion for excellence, a strong work ethic, and a results-oriented mindset. + Familiarity with system development life cycle (SDLC), IT service management (ITSM), infrastructure operations, and enterprise architecture frameworks. + Deep understanding of airport and airline business processes and operational workflows. + Experienced in project and contract management, particularly in overseeing technology vendors and deliverables within the construction industry. **Additional Information** This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week. **About AECOM** AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
