The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join our Corporate Finance Team. Reporting to the Associate Director, Indirect Tax, the role will play a crucial role in ensuring the company complies with all indirect tax regulations. 

This role is ideal for someone with strong VAT advisory experience, a solid understanding of EU VAT rules, and a hands-on approach to managing VAT-related projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving VAT process improvements, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic initiatives across the business.
 

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage VAT-related projects across multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on EMEA countries.

Provide expert VAT advisory support to internal stakeholders on business initiatives, transactions, and structural changes.

Support the preparation and review of VAT reports (such as VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, Intrastat declarations, SAFT and SII) and VAT reconciliation as needed.

Develop and deliver VAT training and awareness sessions across the organization.

Monitor and interpret changes in VAT legislation and assess their impact on the business.

Collaborate with finance, legal, and operational teams to ensure VAT compliance and risk mitigation.

Identify and implement process improvements in VAT reporting, documentation, and controls.

Liaise with external advisors and tax authorities on VAT matters, audits, and queries.

Requirements

University degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Solid accounting skill is a plus.

Minimum 5 years of experience in VAT advisory, preferably also experience as an in-house VAT (project) manager in multinational company

Strong knowledge of EU VAT legislation and compliance frameworks.

Proven track record in managing VAT projects and driving process improvements.

Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Result-oriented with a proactive, can-do mindset.

Strong analytical and communication skills.

Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.

Solid knowledge of SAP and tax engine such as Taxmarc is a plus.

Solid knowledge and VAT compliance experience in Southern European countries, such as Spain, Italy, Greece is a plus
