Indirect Procurement Sr. Manager - Technologies Team
Job Summary

This role leads a team of senior-level individual contributors and strategists within the Technologies category of Indirect Procurement. The Senior Manager is responsible for architecting and executing innovative sourcing strategies, driving strategic procurement projects, and overseeing the development and delivery of complex initiatives with global impact. The role manages demand and supply matching activities at a strategic level, ensuring key business metrics are met, and engages with senior stakeholders to influence supply chain strategic development. The Senior Manager partners with suppliers in forward-thinking strategic initiatives and addresses complex business and technical challenges, leading teams in risk analysis and mitigation strategies.


Role OverviewLead, coach, and guide a team of category managers and strategists in the Technologies category, supporting capability development in negotiation, strategy building, and stakeholder engagement.Architect and lead high-impact category strategies that align with HP’s business objectives and cost transformation goals. Influence and engage with executive stakeholders to drive strategic sourcing decisions and optimize cost structures across HP’s business units.Serve as a senior negotiator in high-visibility supplier engagements, securing competitive advantages and fostering innovation.Partner cross-functionally with legal, finance, operations, and global category management teams to enable seamless and compliant execution.Analyze market trends and business intelligence to inform long-term sourcing strategies and uncover areas for growth, efficiency, and risk mitigation.

Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct and ongoing leadership to a team of senior-level exempt individual contributors and managers to coordinate, manage, and lead strategic procurement projects for the Technologies category.Hold accountability for results of the Technologies category in terms of strategy and cost savings, ensuring performance meets global and regional planning requirements.Plan, direct, and monitor high-end operational/tactical activities of staff, focusing on strategic issues and operational excellence.Oversee the development and delivery of complex initiatives that impact the supply chain globally, involving cross-functional collaboration across organizational hierarchies, functions, and regions.Act as a key advisor to senior business executives on the development of overall strategies and long-term goals, and partner with suppliers in strategic development and relationship building.Create new operational efficiencies and cost savings within the supply chain using process improvement and policy development.Lead teams to produce in-depth risk analyses, formulate effective mitigation strategies for projects, vendor relationships, and contracts, and refine procurement processes and procedures.Perform responsibilities of hiring, setting and monitoring annual performance plans, coaching, and career development, ensuring proper tools are in place to support the team and processes.

Education & Experience RequiredBachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred.Typically 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, consulting, or strategic sourcing, ideally in a global environment.Background in sales or consulting is strongly preferred.

Preferred CertificationsProject Management Professional (PMP)Lean Six SigmaC.P.M., CPSM, CPSD, CPCM, CCCM, CSCP, CPIM, CLTD, or other related certifications
