The Procurement Specialist supports the procurement of goods and services not directly related to production. This role collaborates with sourcing colleagues, analysts, and project teams across global locations to assist in securing contractual agreements, simplifying supplier bases, and executing initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and fulfillment through strategic supplier relationships.
What You’ll Be DoingEssential Functions, Key Tasks, & Responsibilities (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
• Support contract and agreement negotiations with suppliers under guidance from senior sourcing staff.
• Assist in the development and execution of sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories.
• Conduct market and supplier performance analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support sourcing initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic sourcing activities for indirect materials and services, leveraging Danfoss’s consolidated spend and standardization efforts.
• Help manage vendor relationships, including tracking performance and service levels.
• Identify and propose new sources for existing indirect materials to improve service and delivery.
• Participate in spend analysis activities to uncover sourcing opportunities.
• Assist in preparing reports such as cost savings, quote analysis, and supplier performance.
• Support contract preparation and review processes for indirect materials and services
Education and/or Experience
o Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or Finance or combination of relative experience
o Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain support roles or equivalent experience in operations
Preferred Qualifications:
o C.P.M. or C.P.I.M. and/or PMP certification is a plus
o Technology Savvy with a strong working knowledge of MS Office Applications, specifically Excel, power BI
Job Criteria:
o Ability to support project plans and sourcing activities across business units
o Strong analytical and communication skills
o Up to 10% travel (domestic/international) may be required
o Basic contract and negotiation understanding
o Willingness to learn and contribute to global sourcing initiatives
