India Finance - Lead Specialist - Cost Planning & Analysis

What You'll Do

Planning Cycle Ownership –
Lead end-to-end execution of four annual planning cycles for Non-Billable Costs (NBC).
Coordinate with department and function heads to obtain projected costs and assumptions for each planning round.
Compile, validate, and review submissions received from all teams to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Prepare and consolidate full NBC plans aligned with regional and global FP&A guidelines.
Support Finance leadership in reviewing and finalizing the NBC plan.
Share approved plan and plan numbers with respective functional teams.
Upload final plans into FIM (Financial Integrated Management system).
Perform post-upload reconciliation to ensure accuracy and resolve any system-related discrepancies.Estimation & Analytics –
Review projections against previous periods/years for trend analysis, estimation accuracy, and variance explanations.
Analyse Cost relief (ILCS) bundle costs, FTE inputs, and related drivers for both planning and actuals.
Identify errors or inconsistencies in ILCS calculations and ensure correction with relevant stakeholders.
Provide historical cost trends, data analysis, and insights to management as required.
Support leadership with legacy cost data for decision-making and reference.
Conduct deep-dive analysis on multi-year cost trends, drivers, and performance patterns.
Prepare customized reports for leadership based on business priorities and strategic projects.

Actual Cost Reporting & Monthly MIS:
Extract and consolidate monthly actuals from the financial system.
Prepare variance analysis comparing actuals vs plan and highlight key deviations or cost drivers.
Present MIS dashboards and reports to department/function heads on a monthly basis.
Address queries from stakeholders and provide clarifications related to actuals, variances, ILCS drivers, allocations, etc. Code Management (AC/X Codes/Investments/Sales Development) –
Manage creation, modification, and closure of the codes in coordination with Finance and operations teams. Ensure accurate mapping, tracking, and reporting of costs under each code. Oversee governance, monitoring, and reporting of investment expenses, proposal codes, and MDP SDV codes. Ensure correct cost capture, compliance, and monthly spend tracking.Monthly Closing –
Responsible for smooth and timely month closing activities of company. Co-ordinate with various users for collecting the required schedules relating to treasury & fixed assets.
Preparation of monthly variance analysis of trial balance and ensure all schedules are prepared and reviewed correctly.Audit –
Responsible for providing required schedules for treasury and fixed assets during statutory and tax audit. Will also be responsible for preparation of notes to accounts. Co-ordinate with various users for collecting the required schedules and information for Audit. Prepare variance analysis for profit and loss and balance sheet schedules. Also, will be responsible for maintaining the IFC control evidence.Other Responsibilities –
Work on operational effectiveness which includes identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency of the function. Ensure that local practices comply with BCG policies and local requirements. Enhance internal controls, continuously seeking to reengineer local business processes to obtain efficiencies and reduce costs. Play a proactive role in identifying and addressing areas for improvement to the local accounting processes to gain efficiencies, which is inclusive of but not limited to assisting with local development and implementation of financial applications.

What You'll Bring

CA with 5-7 years or MBA with 7-9 years of relevant experienceProficiency in desktop applications and SAP financial systemsMust have worked extensively on Windows OS and has very good hands-on experience in MS Excel and MSWordShould have experience of working in an MNC environment, especially in the core areas of work described above. Should have the personality and drive to be able to interact across functions and levels to be able to carry out his/her job responsibilities. Strong communication skills – both written and verbal are important. More than that ability to articulate his/her point across to the other person effectively and efficiently.
