We are the Accessibility team within Walmart Global Tech India’s UX Design organization, based in Bangalore. Our mission is to create barrier-free, inclusive digital experiences for millions of Walmart customers and associates around the world. We are passionate advocates for accessibility, working to ensure that every product and feature we design meets the highest standards for usability and inclusivity.
Our team partners closely with designers, engineers, product managers, and content strategists to embed accessibility into every stage of the product development lifecycle. We believe that accessible design is good design—and that it drives innovation, customer satisfaction, and business impact.

What you will do:
As an Accessibility Specialist, you will work on the next generation e-commerce products, services, and solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills to ensure that Walmart e-commerce applications, as well as applications used by Walmart associates, comply with web accessibility standards and regulations. As an Accessibility Specialist, you will be a trusted, respected, partner who works closely with Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to review digital products for inclusivity and to test the products for accessibility compliance with WCAG.
Collaborate and communicate closely with key stakeholders in Design, Product Management, and Product Engineering throughout the product development cycle to support design reviews and compliance testing.Collaborate with the Testing Lead for on-time completion of deliverables in alignment with the set expectations.Collaborate with Engineering teams to ensure that accessibility recommendations are implemented appropriately.Report and track accessibility defects and ensure timely closure of the defects.Demonstrate proficiency in products of high complexity with an ability to operate independently without extensive direction.Participate in creating and maintaining process documentation in partnership with subject matter experts.Suggest process improvement ideas, provide feedback on testing tools, applications, and process.Contribute to the success of organizational initiatives.Seek and share candid feedback.Lead by example in creating a positive, supportive team environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and respectful discussion.Stay abreast of evolving accessibility standards and trends in the industry.Continuously develop skills and knowledge in the field of inclusive design, accessibility engineering, testing, and remediation.What you will bring:
A bachelor’s or higher degree in the field of Computer Science/ User Experience Design (human-computer interaction/interaction design), or in a related field.4-6 years of industry experience in quality assurance related to accessibility assessment for both desktop and mobile applications.Demonstrable knowledge of WCAG 2.2, Section 508, WAI-ARIA standards/guidelines/regulations.Expertise in working with assistive technologies such as NVDA, JAWS, Talkback, and VoiceOver on both Web and mobile apps.Hands-on experience in performing accessibility assessments, documenting results, and following through to ensure adherence.Experience with accessibility testing tools (Axe, WAVE, ARC, CCA, Lighthouse, Insights, Accessibility Scanner etc.)Good understanding of inclusive design principles and an obsessive eye for visual and interaction details.Solid knowledge of semantic HTML and appropriate use of ARIA markup.Familiarity with bug tracking systems such as Jira.Ability to problem-solve and work independently.Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be willing and able to proactively reach out to stakeholders and team members for collaboration and support.Certifications such as CPACC or WAS from IAAPFamiliarity with design tools such as FigmaExperience in delivering accessibility trainings to developers and designersAbout Walmart Global Tech
