The Inclusion & Community Impact Lead serves as a strategic catalyst for advancing inclusion and culture by igniting, steering and empowering our inclusion communities to deliver impactful outcomes aligned with business and people priorities. This role will provide strategic oversight for designated People Business Resource Groups (PBRGs), ensuring their voices and perspectives are effectively represented and integrated into broader inclusion efforts and business strategies. This role also champions employee-driven community engagement initiatives aligned with organizational priorities, including efforts that advance equitable health outcomes. By fostering broad employee engagement and cross-PBRG collaboration, the role cultivates a dynamic and inclusive experience for both our employees and patients.

Position Responsibilities

Work with the Global Inclusion & Culture (GI&C) leadership team to drive cross-PBRG collaboration across our key stakeholders to ensure inclusion activities are streamlined, integrated and strategically leveraged for clear business impact.Design and lead the implementation of innovative, focused engagement strategies and activation models that harness insights from varied communities to generate meaningful business value.Champion prioritization and amplify the visibility of employee-led community engagement initiatives through PBRGs that deliver measurable impact for the business.Establish structured mechanisms to systematically integrate insights from communities across a variety of backgrounds into enterprise decision-making.Drive integration of local market inclusion efforts with global enterprise priorities by establishing governance frameworks, aligning regional strategies, and ensuring consistent execution that reflects both local relevance and global impact.Monitor and synthesize emerging trends in inclusion and workplace culture, benchmarking against industry standards to guide strategic planning and position BMS as a leader in inclusive innovation.Develop and execute processes to enable consistent oversight, prioritization, and evaluation of PBRG activities in collaboration with peers and GI&C management with clear, measurable KPIs that deliver incremental quantitative value for business and people priorities.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or global equivalent; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.10+ years of progressive leadership experience in inclusion and culture within multinational, matrixed organizations.Experience providing strategic guidance across both global functions and local site environmentsProven ability to identify and distill external trends across inclusion, organizational culture, as well as patient/customer and employee experience, translating insights into forward-thinking strategies and impactful initiatives.Brings a proven ability to shape patient and/or client experiences that reflect individual needs and perspectives, while engaging with communities across varied experiences to inform strategy, elevate voices, and drive meaningful, insight-led outreach and communicationSkilled in driving initiatives and campaigns that elevate visibility, foster engagement, and build connection across a broad array of communities.Demonstrated success in innovation-driven environments where agility, trust, collaboration, and strategic partnerships lead to impactful transformation.Leadership, Influence & Change Champion: Proven ability to influence and drive strategic decisions.Experience leading transformational change and improving organizational performance.Skilled in navigating matrixed, global environments and fostering cross-functional collaboration.Proactive problem-solver with a growth mindset and strong business acumen.Values-driven leader who exemplifies integrity, innovation, urgency, passion, accountability, and inclusion.People management experience preferred.Strategic & Operational ExpertiseProven ability to assess critical business needs, develop strategy, and execute plans that deliver measurable value.Strong business and organizational acumen, leveraging insights from a variety of communities to improve outcomes across people, culture, and performance.Skilled collaborator within complex matrixed organizations across multiple functionsStakeholder Engagement & CommunicationDemonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Strong verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.Mastery of business communication across varied cultural and social boundaries.Ability to facilitate and coordinate large working groups.Adaptive ThinkingProven ability to absorb new concepts, analyze data, and ask insightful questions to inform effective decision-making.Demonstrates a strong understanding of marketplace dynamics and trends.Ability to scale thinking between global enterprise-level focus and functional/regional needs.Additional Requirements: Willingness to travel as needed (10–20%).

Compensation Overview:

Princeton - NJ - US: $182,750 - $221,450

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
