Incident Readiness Training & Exercise Coordinator
Description

Overview:The Incident Readiness Training & Exercise Coordinator will play a crucial role in preparing the Client and its partners to effectively and responsibly manage urgent events and incidents involving its autonomous vehicle operations, riders, communities, and reputation. Supporting the Client’s Incident Readiness team, the role involves designing, facilitating, and evaluating Incident Readiness-led training exercises, including tabletops and simulations. Additionally, this role includes holding training sessions and validating changes to response-focused processes, policies, and tooling. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of incident response principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to understand and train others on complex processes, operating effectively in dynamic, high-pressure environments. The ideal candidate will preferably have private and public sector incident management or incident response experience. Benefits vary by location.Job RequirementsTraining and Exercise Development, Facilitation and Evaluation:Design, facilitate, and evaluate virtual and in-person Incident Readiness-led training exercises (e.g. plan walkthroughs, tabletops, and simulations) in addition to conducting training sessions.Collaborate with a large number of cross-functional teams involved in the Client’s incident response processes through provided training, exercises, and follow-up communications.Develop exercise objectives and design exercise scenarios, injects, and facilitator guides.Lead and manage up to four communication channels (chat, email, video call, etc.) simultaneously via various high- and low-tech mediums during exercises.Documentation & Recordkeeping:Create and maintain rigorous documentation related to training and exercises, including key takeaways and recommended process improvements.Own the preparation stages for training and exercises and ensure that related tasks are clearly tracked and completed in a timely manner. Evaluate and document the results from each training and exercise event, including findings and action items.Create and/or improve the set of document templates used by the Incident Readiness team in designing, conducting, and evaluating exercises.Conduct other recordkeeping or document maintenance tasks as needed.Data Analysis & Improvement:Build dashboards and other visualizations within existing toolsets to make it easier for all stakeholders to interpret exercise results.Build new processes or improve the traceability and clarity of processes used within the Incident Readiness program.Perform post-mortem analysis of incidents and exercises to identify root causes and implement improvements.Communication:Communicate announcements and results from training and exercises.Provide clear and actionable insights from exercises and incidents to stakeholders.Communicate plans, feedback, and rationale effectively to team members and stakeholders.Other:Apply Client’s policies, procedures, standards, and code of conduct throughout, including taking responsibility for the safety of self and others during testing.Respond quickly to changing and potentially high-pressure environments.Be able to work independently.Required Experience:Demonstrated experience in Incident readiness or response-focused project or program management.Demonstrated experience designing, facilitating, and evaluating incident-response focused training exercises.Demonstrated experience developing and effectively delivering training material to small and large groups.Demonstrated experience in change management and deploying complex process, policy, or tooling-focused changes to cross-functional groups.Preferred Experience:Demonstrated mix of public and private sector Incident response experience.Experience with training exercise post-mortem processes and continuous improvement methodologies.Experience in collaborating effectively with diverse internal teams (e.g., engineering, legal, communications) and external partners.Automotive, maritime, or aviation experience.Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):Strong understanding of incident response processes and risk mitigation workflows and designing.Ability to understand complex processes and create training, exercises, and rollout plans focused on effectively implementing or improving those processes.Ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment and contribute to a rapidly-developing program. Proficiency in creating and updating documentation and reports.Proven ability to manage multiple communication channels simultaneously.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Strong analytical aptitude and keen interest in driving efficiency.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Demonstrated ability in problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially under pressure.Proficiency in Google Workspace tools (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet). Demonstrated attention to detail and experience in developing and improving documentation and reporting templates.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
