This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a high‑volume call center environment. The position also includes cashiering and scale operations at the transfer station. **Duties & Responsibilities Call Center & Customer Support** + Provide customer service by phone, email, and in person in a fast‑paced call-center environment. + Activate, discontinue, or modify customer services. + Record customer information for billing, service changes, and product inquiries. + Resolve customer disputes and collaborate with other departments to ensure timely solutions. + Engage in sales conversations to promote new or additional services. + Prorate customer accounts based on service changes. + Delivering service in a manner that promotes goodwill and professionalism. **Administrative & Billing Tasks** + Complete contract forms, determine service charges, collect deposits, and process address changes. + Prepare discontinuance orders and maintain accurate account documentation. + Demonstrate proficiency in proprietary operational systems and Microsoft Office applications. **Scale House & Cashiering** + Greet and direct customers and employees entering the transfer station. + Operate the scale house, weigh trucks in and out, and calculate payments. + Balance a cash drawer and process transactions accurately. + Track weight information in the computer system and obtain required signatures. + Ensure incoming loads are safe and free of prohibited materials. + Maintain general upkeep and cleanliness of the scale house. + Work on your feet outdoors throughout the shift. **Minimum Requirements** + Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. + Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. + High school diploma or equivalent preferred. + Two years of customer service or call center experience preferred. + Fast and accurate typing skills; 10‑key proficiency required. + Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving abilities. + General math skills and ability to prepare basic reports. + Ability to stand for an 8‑hour shift while cashiering. + Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. + Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. + Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. **What Waste Connections Offers** + Competitive compensation + Performance‑based career growth opportunities + Medical, dental, and vision insurance + Life insurance and disability coverage + Generous 401(k) plan + Flexible Spending Account (FSA) + Employee Assistance Program (EAP) + Emergency Travel Assistance To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at **www.wasteconnections.com** **.** Application information and additional instructions can be found once you select your position of interest.
