Responsibilities: + Provide quality assurance services at various transit vehicle manufacturers and maintain accurate inspection records of each vehicle. + Communicate progress of construction and inspection to client(s). + Ensure manufactured buses conform to client's technical specifications, industry standards, and manufacturer's quality standards. + Ensure each bus is built to the highest level of reliability and maintainability. + Represent client and client's best interest while on-site during the manufacturing process. + Ensure each bus is as free of defects as possible when delivered to client. + Provide, at a minimum, weekly written reports to Customer detailing inspection activities, status of bus production, photos, and additional documentation as appropriate. + Demonstrate and encourage a "Safety First" lifestyle. + Responsible for other duties as assigned. Requirements: + High school diploma or equivalent + Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills. + Problem solving and analytical skills. + Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. Physical Requirements: The essential functions of this position require the ability to: + Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces + Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level + Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
