Job Description & Summary
As the OGC team member you will act as a trusted counsel/business partner for various internal stakeholders, and will be dealing mainly with clients' contracting issues and common internal legal matters. As such you need to (i) possess adequate legal knowledge (ii) be able to identify particular problems and (iii) apply the knowledge so that your recommendations are correct (obviously) but also practical.
About the TeamOur legal department (Office of General Counsel – OGC) is part of the Risk & Quality (R&Q) function. We are an internal team of lawyers whose sole client is PwC, particularly the local PwC firms. We support both client-facing teams and internal functions by addressing legal questions, managing legal risks, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and PwC Network policies.
Across the CEE region (28 countries), there are around fifty OGC lawyers, including four based in Czechia. The Czech OGC Lead reports to the CEE General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel, who in turn report to the CEE R&Q Leader.
About your managerJan Junger, the Czech OGC Leader, has worked in the legal field since 2005. Before joining PwC as in‑house counsel in 2017, he gained experience in international law firms and in his own practice, giving him a broad legal background and insight into both private (attorney) practice and in‑house environments.
Outside work, Jan enjoys sports—especially when shared with his kids (cycling, running, swimming, tennis, golf, skiing, snowboarding)—and has a passion for fine art. He looks forward to collaborating with a dedicated associate who will be a great fit for the team.
Job description & summaryProvide legal support in contracting — including drafting, reviewing and commenting on various types of client and vendor agreements, and managing selected contract templates.
Support other legal areas (depending on your expertise), such as civil law, corporate law, regulatory matters, competition, employment law and compliance.
Participate in regular internal reporting processes, including monitoring legislative developments in assigned areas and conducting ad-hoc legal research.
Contribute to the internal knowledge management system.
After an initial onboarding period working closely with senior OGC colleagues, progressively take ownership of selected legal areas or workstreams and manage them independently.
Requirements of the roleCzech law degree, passed bar exams will be an advantage
Approx. 3 years of generalist legal experience (experience as an inhouse lawyer in an international company or an associate/attorney in a reputable law firm will be an advantage)
Advanced English and Czech language
