Import/Export Specialist
Our client in Evansville, Indiana is seeking a Import/Export Logistic Specialist to join their team. As a Logistics Specialist, you will be supporting the company with Logistics related tasks. The ideal candidate will have Microsoft office experience, communication skills which will align successfully in the organization. **Job Title:** Logistics Specialist **Location:** Evansville, IN **Shift:** Hybrid Role M-F (in office T-T) 7a-4p **Pay Range:** $30.00 - $35.00 **What’s the Job?** + Support day-to-day Import/Export shipments, regulatory compliance, and coordinating accurate and timely documents with US customs, FDA, and USDA + Provide guidance for government regulations, policies, and guidelines mandated by government agencies + Maintain proper HTS codes, Schedule B codes, FDA codes, valuation and country of origin, entry and export procedures + Work with Supplies importing goods into the USA to ensure correctness of import documents and the appropriate transportation method + Interface with Custom Broker to ensure correctness of US Customs and FDA filings and release documents + Knowledge of tariffs, contract, classifications, discounts, accessorial charges and other price related issues to work with 3PL's to resolve freight payment discrepancies and provide root cause analysis + Act as POC internally to the client to support one-off import/export shipments in support of other client divisions as needed + Respond to inquiries regarding order changes, unforcased order requests and timing of expected shipments by consulting databases, queries, and conferring with plant planners + Manager order quantitity and timing with manufacturing variances to target, eliminate, or minimize write-offs of inventory and meet with on time shipment deliverables + Communicate with warehousing/logistics regarding order status, consolidation potential, and desired ship dates for markets replenished to a targeted day supply + Execute the required steps to ensure that supporting SAP system master data is proactively set up to permit ordering and shipment of new items for markets + Work to reduce cyle time for order fulfillment through timely communication of information to third party logistics provider and recommending changes to business processes + Communicate ideas eddectively to ensure accuract and consistency of understanding of events, plans, and consequences + Establiush strong internal and external working relationships and demonstrates diplomacy when dealing with sensitive information + Enter forecast for Trade customers in SAP to ensure timely prodicton and shipments + Other duties as assigned **What’s Needed?** + Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field is preferred + SAP experience preferred + International Trade experience preferred - Scheduled B, HTS + International Logistics preferred - international freight forwarders and domestic transportation + Two (2) years minimum relevant experience + Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) required + Ability to multi-task effectively while working in a fast paced and outcome driven environment + Proficient written and oral professional communication + Demonstrated ability to work independently and initiate action **What’s in it for me?** + Competitive pay + Hybrid Role + Accrued paid time off + Clean work environment If this is a role that interests you and you’d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
