1. About the Role
DHL Global Forwarding Vietnam is seeking a dedicated Import/Export Operations Specialist to join our team as an on-site specialist supporting one of our key multinational FMCG clients. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work directly at our client's location, managing end-to-end import/export operations while being part of a global logistics leader.
2. Position Overview
As an Import/Export Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for managing comprehensive trade operations, ensuring compliance with Vietnamese customs regulations, and optimizing supply chain processes. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
3. Key Responsibilities
3.1. Inbound Operations Management
Ensure timely receipt and processing of shipping documents from international sources to meet inbound lead time requirementsCoordinate with internal teams and external partners to manage inbound shipment scheduling and ensure on-time deliveryFollow up on documentation requirements related to import regulations, working with distributors and internal stakeholdersIdentify and implement alternative documentation solutions when regulatory challenges ariseManage weekly reports and coordinate with accounting teams for payment processingResearch and implement local inbound cost optimization opportunitiesTrack and reconcile import duties against master data monthly3.2. Trade Compliance & Operations
Review and submit price consultation documents to customs authorities, highlighting potential risksMaintain and update the import price master data approved by customsPrepare monthly operational reports for regional management teamsTrack and optimize Free Trade Agreement (FTA) applications and identify new FTA opportunitiesProvide import duty projections and cost analysis to finance and export teamsMonitor compliance dashboards and ensure adherence to trade regulations3.3. Problem Resolution & Optimization
Provide solutions for shipment issues, including documentation errors and order discrepanciesCoordinate with warehouse teams to identify alternative storage solutions during peak periodsAnalyze detention and demurrage periods to optimize container managementSupport urgent tax payment requirements and customs clearance processes4. This position requires working on-site at our client's office at No. 5 Me Linh Square, Sai Gon Ward (former District 1, HCMC), maintaining professional standards and confidentiality at all times. The role involves regular interaction with customs authorities, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders across multiple departments.
5. Job requirements
5.1. Essential Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or related field3-5 years of experience in import/export operations, especially in FMCG or consumer goods sectors, is preferableStrong expertise in international trade regulations and customs proceduresExperience with supply chain management, logistics coordination, and customs clearance processesProficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and data analytics toolsExcellent English proficiency (written and spoken)Experience with customs systems (VNACCS/ECUS5) is highly advantageous5.2.
